A young teenager named Mary looked out from the speeding train’s window and shouted…
“Dad, look at the trees! They are so beautiful but move by so quickly!”
Her Dad grinned and responded, “Indeed they do, Mary!”
A couple sitting nearby stared at Mary’s seemingly childish behaviour with raised eyebrows and a sense of pity.
Suddenly Mary again exclaimed, “Dad, the clouds look like they are running with us!”
Her Dad chuckled lovingly at his daughter and replied, “Indeed they do, Mary!”
The couple couldn’t resist and said to Mary’s Dad, “Why don’t you take Mary to visit health care professionals and get some help for her?”
The Dad smiled and said, “I did and we are just on our way home from the hospital! You see Mary has been blind from birth. She has just had an operation that has restored her sight and she’s excited about being on a train and seeing the world around her for the first time.”
